Leavesden Green Primary School in Waford required a suitable outdoor play area for the children adjacent to the classrooms. Kier excavated and prepared the area with Type 1 MOT Stone to form a suitable base foundation. We then arranged delivery of materials to site via Palletways. The next stage involved us laying the Rubber SBR base layer over the compacted MOT stone at a 25mm depth. We then installed the top wearing coat in Purple at 15mm to complete the project. A period of 24 hours is then allowed for the new surface to fully cure. During this period the area must be fenced off to prevent anyone gaining access and walking on it. Once this period has expired the safety surface is suitable for use.
